# Data sources

> Where the data in Ziplined comes from, what we store, and how to have it deleted.

Ziplined is engagement intelligence for B2B teams. It shows who engages with the LinkedIn
content you follow, and which of those people fit your ideal client. This page says where
that data comes from and what happens to it, including when you use Ziplined through an
assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT.

## Where the data comes from

Ziplined works with public data and with data you add yourself.

* **Public engagement.** You choose the profiles, companies and keywords to follow: your
own team, competitors or voices in your market. Ziplined records public engagement on
that content, such as who liked, commented on or shared a post, and when.
* **Public professional information.** For the people and companies behind that
engagement: name, headline, job title, company, location and the public profile URL.
Company details such as industry, size and country.
* **Data providers.** Some professional details, such as company information and, when you
ask for it, a work email address or phone number, come from third-party data providers.
* **Your own LinkedIn data.** The browser extension adds what LinkedIn already shows you
while you are logged in: your profile, your posts, your profile viewers, followers and
connections. It never reads private messages.
* **What you add.** Your ideal client profile, saved views, notes, tags, outreach you log,
  and integration settings.

Ziplined does not process sensitive categories of personal data, and it does not use this
data for advertising.

## What we store

* **Per person:** the public professional information above, their engagement with the
content you follow, whether they match your ideal client (and which parts did not), and a
  warmth score.
Contact details only when a lookup found them.
* **Per workspace:** your account, plan and credits, your ideal client profile, sources,
views, syncs, destinations, notes, tags and logged outreach.
* **Per tool call** from an assistant or the API: which tool was called, when, how long it
took and whether it worked, plus the names of the arguments. Not the values you passed,
and never the content of your conversation.

Ziplined does not sell personal data. Each workspace sees only its own data.

## Using Ziplined from an assistant

When you connect Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP client, you sign in to Ziplined and choose
a workspace. The assistant can then call the Ziplined tools on your behalf. It sees only
what a tool returns for that workspace, and only the tools your sign-in allows.

* Ziplined never reads your chat history, the assistant's memory or your files.
* Tools that cost credits, take something away or send people to another app ask for
  your confirmation first. See [Tools](https://docs.ziplined.io/mcp/tools.md#confirmation).
* What the assistant does with a tool result is governed by the assistant provider's own
  terms and privacy policy.
* You can disconnect at any time in the assistant's connector settings. An API key can be
revoked in Ziplined under **Settings, Integrations, API keys**.

## Deleting data

* **Your account or workspace.** Email us to delete your account, your workspace or any
part of it. We delete workspace data within 30 days, and backups expire within 90 days.
* **If you appear in someone's data.** Anyone can ask what Ziplined holds about them, object
to it, or ask for it to be deleted, by emailing the address on our
[privacy policy](https://ziplined.io/privacy#contact). We answer within 30 days.
* **Data already exported.** Data a customer synced or exported to their own tools is that
customer's responsibility. You may also need to contact them.
